GFX-750 / GFX-1260 setup (built-in NTRIP)

1

Verify RTK activation

  1. On the GFX display, navigate to Settings > GNSS Configuration.

  2. Confirm that RTK is listed as an available correction option.

  3. If RTK is not available, the NAV controller (NAV-500 or NAV-900) requires RTK activation. Contact your Trimble dealer.

2

Open correction settings

  1. Navigate to Settings > GNSS Configuration > Corrections.

  2. Select Internet RTK as the correction type.

3

Select NTRIP as the connection method

  1. Under Internet RTK, select NTRIP as the connection method.

  2. This opens the NTRIP configuration fields.

4

Enter RTKdata.com NTRIP settings

Fill in the NTRIP connection fields:

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO

  • Host (domain): eu.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 3.73.41.96

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO

  • Host (domain): aus.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 54.206.56.130

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO

5

Connect and verify RTK status

  1. Save the settings and initiate the NTRIP connection.

  2. Monitor the GNSS status indicator on the GFX display:

Status
Meaning

Autonomous / GPS

Basic satellite fix. No corrections applied.

Float

Correction data arriving and being processed.

RTK Fixed

Centimeter-level accuracy achieved. Ready for precision operations.

  1. Convergence to RTK Fixed typically takes 30–90 seconds with clear sky visibility.

CFX-750 setup (external modem required)

The CFX-750 is an older display that does not have a built-in NTRIP client or cellular modem. An external modem is required to receive corrections from RTKdata.com.

1

Connect an external NTRIP modem

  1. Connect a Raven RV50, DCM-300, or similar NTRIP modem to the CFX-750's correction input port.

  2. Power on the modem and verify cellular connectivity.

2

Configure NTRIP on the external modem

  1. Open the modem's configuration interface (web browser or on-screen menu).

  2. Enter the same RTKdata.com NTRIP settings from the regional tabs above.

  3. Set the modem's output to forward RTCM3 corrections to the CFX-750.

3

Verify RTK on the CFX-750

  1. On the CFX-750 display, check the GNSS status.

  2. The display should progress from GPS to Float to RTK Fixed as corrections are received.

  3. If the display does not show RTK, verify that RTK activation is enabled on the NAV controller.

Vertical reference (heights)

Heights from RTKdata.com are ellipsoidal. For agriculture applications, this is typically sufficient since auto-steer guidance uses horizontal positioning. If you need terrain-relative heights for drainage or leveling, apply a local geoid model.

Troubleshooting

Problem
Cause
Fix

RTK not available in correction settings

NAV controller not activated

Contact your Trimble dealer to activate RTK on the NAV-500 or NAV-900.

Connection fails with "VRS" or "Network RTK" selected

Wrong correction type

Change the correction type to Internet RTK. This is the correct setting for RTKdata.com.

No internet connection (GFX)

Built-in modem has no SIM or signal

Verify the GFX display's internal modem has an active SIM card and cellular signal.

No internet connection (CFX-750)

External modem not connected

Verify the external modem is powered, has a SIM card, and shows cellular connectivity.

Authentication error

Wrong credentials

Use the username and password from your RTKdata dashboard, not your website login. Credentials are case-sensitive.

Stuck on Float

Poor sky visibility

Move to an open area away from buildings, tree lines, and power lines.

Stuck on Float

NAV controller issue

Restart the NAV controller. If Float persists, verify RTK activation status.

Mountpoint error

Wrong capitalization

Type AUTO in ALL CAPS.

Tips

  • "Internet RTK" is the correct setting — this is the most common configuration mistake on Trimble GFX displays. "VRS" and "Network RTK" are different protocols.

  • GFX-750 vs GFX-1260: The setup process is identical. The GFX-1260 has a larger screen and updated processor, but NTRIP configuration follows the same menu path.

  • CFX-750 users need an external modem. The RV50 cellular modem is the most common choice and has a straightforward web-based configuration interface.

  • EZ-Pilot Pro and Autopilot guidance systems work seamlessly with RTK corrections — no additional configuration is needed on the guidance hardware once RTK is active on the display.

  • Keep firmware updated on the GFX display and NAV controller for best RTK performance and compatibility.

  • Save your configuration after setup. If the display is reset or swapped, you can re-enter settings quickly by referencing your saved configuration.
