Requirements

  • Aircraft: DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise (3E, 3T, or 3M) with RTK module clipped onto the top of the aircraft

  • Controller: DJI RC Pro Enterprise (the standard RC Pro does not support RTK)

  • Software: DJI Pilot 2 — installed and updated to the latest version

  • Firmware: Aircraft firmware updated via DJI Assistant 2 or DJI Pilot 2

  • Internet: Wi-Fi hotspot from your phone or a USB 4G dongle plugged into the controller's USB-C port

  • RTKdata account: Active subscription with NTRIP credentials

Step-by-step setup

1

Power on the Mavic 3 Enterprise and the RC Pro Enterprise controller. Wait for them to link.

2

Connect to the internet

Establish internet access on the controller:

  • Connect to a phone Wi-Fi hotspot, or

  • Insert a USB 4G dongle into the controller's USB-C port

3

Open DJI Pilot 2

Launch DJI Pilot 2 on the controller and enter the camera/flight view so you see the live video feed.

4

Open RTK settings

  • Tap the three dots (...) menu icon in the top-right corner

  • In the settings panel, tap the RTK tab on the left sidebar

  • Toggle RTK Positioning to ON

5

Select Custom Network RTK

Under "RTK Service Type", select Custom Network RTK.

6

Enter NTRIP connection settings

Select your region and enter the corresponding server details:

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

Connect and verify

  • Tap Connect to save and apply the settings

  • Move the drone outdoors to an open area with clear sky view — the RTK module requires a GNSS satellite fix before it can communicate with the NTRIP server

  • Monitor the RTK status indicator in DJI Pilot 2:

Status
Color
Meaning

SINGLE

Red

Basic GPS fix acquired. No corrections applied yet.

FLOAT

Yellow

Correction data is being received and processed. Accuracy is improving.

FIX

Green

Centimeter-level accuracy is active. Standard deviation below 2 cm.

Convergence from SINGLE to FIX typically takes 30–90 seconds in open sky conditions.

Vertical reference (heights)

circle-info

RTK corrections deliver ellipsoidal heights (height above the WGS 84 ellipsoid), not orthometric heights (height above mean sea level). If your workflow requires orthometric heights, apply a geoid model in your post-processing software.

Troubleshooting

Problem
Cause
Fix

"No RTK Data Available"

Drone is indoors or has no satellite fix

Move outdoors to open sky. The drone will not send GGA position data to the NTRIP server until it acquires satellites.

"No RTK Data Available"

No internet on controller

Open the Android browser on the controller to verify connectivity.

"No RTK Data Available"

Wrong credentials

Re-enter username and password from your RTKdata dashboard. Credentials are case-sensitive.

RTK stays on FLOAT

Obstructed sky view

Move away from buildings, trees, and power lines.

RTK stays on FLOAT

Out of base station range

Verify your RTKdata subscription is active and you are within 50 km of a base station.

Connection drops mid-flight

Weak internet connection

Switch from Wi-Fi hotspot to a USB 4G dongle for more stable connectivity.

RTK tab missing in Pilot 2

RTK module not attached

The small RTK antenna module must be physically clipped onto the top of the aircraft. Reseat it firmly.

Tips

  • Firmware matters. Some older firmware versions had bugs with Custom Network RTK. Always update to the latest version before troubleshooting.

  • RTK module must be physically attached. The RTK antenna clips onto the top of the aircraft. If it is missing or loose, the RTK tab will not appear in DJI Pilot 2.

  • For mapping missions, enable "RTK always on" in the RTK settings so the drone maintains corrections throughout the entire flight.

  • Battery swaps: After swapping batteries, allow 30–60 seconds for RTK to re-converge to FIX. This is normal behavior.

  • Cold weather: RTK convergence can take slightly longer in very cold conditions. Allow extra time before starting a survey mission.

  • Consumer Mavic 3 is not supported. If you own a standard Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Classic, or Mavic 3 Pro, these drones do not have RTK hardware and cannot use NTRIP corrections.
