# Skydio X10 / X10D NTRIP Setup: Centimeter RTK

Connect the **Skydio X10** (and the **X10D** variant) to RTKdata.com's NTRIP correction service for centimeter-level positioning. RTK and PPK on the X10 are provided by an **optional modular RTK/PPK attachment** — they are not built into the base airframe.

{% hint style="danger" %}
A base X10 **without** the **Skydio RTK/PPK attachment** (part number `DR4ATTRTK`) has no RTK or PPK capability. The attachment is powered by a **Septentrio Mosaic-X5** multi-constellation GNSS receiver and supports both real-time **RTK** (corrections in flight) and **PPK** (post-processed after landing). This guide covers the real-time **NTRIP RTK** workflow.
{% endhint %}

## Requirements

* **Aircraft:** Skydio X10 or X10D with the **RTK/PPK attachment** (`DR4ATTRTK`) installed in an attachment bay
* **Controller:** Skydio controller with an active internet connection (phone hotspot or tether — the controller, not the aircraft, carries the NTRIP stream)
* **Firmware:** Aircraft, attachment, and controller updated to the latest version
* **RTKdata account:** Active subscription with NTRIP credentials

{% endhint %}

## Step-by-step setup

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Install the RTK/PPK attachment

Mount the **RTK/PPK attachment** in one of the X10's attachment bays and power on the aircraft and controller. Confirm the controller has internet (hotspot or tether).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open RTK setup

On the controller, go to **Global Settings → Attachments → RTK/PPK → Set Up RTK**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Open network settings

Under **Connect to Base Station**, tap **Open Network Settings**. Set **Kinematics Type** to **RTK** (not PPK).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enter NTRIP connection settings

Select your region and enter the corresponding server details:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="North America" %}

* **NTRIP Host:** `rtk.rtkdata.com`
* **IP Fallback:** `13.56.117.10`
* **Port:** `2101`
* **Username / Password:** From *RTK Credentials* in the internal dashboard (not website login)
* **Mount Point (ALL CAPS):** `AUTO` (recommended) — or `AUTO_WGS84`, `AUTO_ITRF2020`, `AUTO_ITRF2014`
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Europe" %}

* **NTRIP Host:** `eu.rtkdata.com`
* **IP Fallback:** `3.73.41.96`
* **Port:** `2101`
* **Username / Password:** From *RTK Credentials* in the internal dashboard (not website login)
* **Mount Point (ALL CAPS):** `AUTO` (recommended) — or `AUTO_WGS84`, `AUTO_ITRF2020`, `AUTO_ITRF2014`
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Australia" %}

* **NTRIP Host:** `aus.rtkdata.com`
* **IP Fallback:** `54.206.56.130`
* **Port:** `2101`
* **Username / Password:** From *RTK Credentials* in the internal dashboard (not website login)
* **Mount Point (ALL CAPS):** `AUTO` (recommended) — or `AUTO_WGS84`, `AUTO_ITRF2020`, `AUTO_ITRF2014`
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

The controller loads the available mount points from the caster's source table — select **`AUTO`** from the list.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Keep "Send GGA" enabled.** The RTKdata caster uses your GGA position to select the **nearest reference station** and stream single-baseline RTCM3 corrections from it. Without GGA, you connect but receive no corrections and stay on Float. RTKdata is a single-baseline, location-keyed network — it is **not** a VRS service. See [NTRIP & GGA Essentials](/integration-hub/ntrip-clients-and-field-software/ntrip-and-gga-essentials.md).
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect and verify Fix

* Tap **Connect Now** (Connect to Base Station).
* Place the drone **outdoors** with a clear sky view so the Mosaic-X5 acquires satellites before it can report position to the caster.
* Watch the RTK status indicator (top-right telemetry):

| Status     | Meaning                                                  |
| ---------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **SINGLE** | Basic GNSS fix. No corrections applied yet. |
| **FLOAT** | Corrections received and processing. Accuracy improving. |
| **FIX**    | Centimeter-level accuracy active.                        |

Skydio requires an RTK **FIX** before proceeding with the flight. Convergence typically takes 30–90 seconds in open sky.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Vertical reference (heights)

{% hint style="info" %}
RTK corrections deliver **ellipsoidal heights** (height above the WGS 84 ellipsoid), not orthometric heights (mean sea level). If your workflow requires orthometric heights, apply a geoid model in your post-processing software.
{% endhint %}

## Troubleshooting

| Problem                         | Cause                                     | Fix                                                                                                |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| No corrections / stuck on Float | GGA not being sent (no satellite fix yet) | Move outdoors to open sky so the receiver acquires satellites and reports position |
| No corrections | No internet on the controller | Verify the controller's hotspot/tether connectivity |
| Authentication fails            | Wrong credentials                         | Re-enter username/password from the RTKdata dashboard (case-sensitive, username starts with `rtk`) |
| Mount point not listed | Source table not loaded | Re-open Network Settings so the controller refreshes the source table, then select `AUTO` |
| RTK option missing | Attachment not installed/detected | Confirm the RTK/PPK attachment is seated in a bay and firmware is current |

## Tips

* **The RTK/PPK attachment is required.** Without `DR4ATTRTK`, the X10 cannot do RTK or PPK.
* **Internet runs through the controller**, not the aircraft — use a stable hotspot or tether.
* **PPK is also available** via the same Mosaic-X5 attachment if you prefer post-processing over real-time corrections.
* **Update firmware first** (aircraft, attachment, controller) before troubleshooting connectivity.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.rtkdata.com/integration-hub/drones-and-uavs/skydio-x10.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
