Emlid Reach RS2+

The Emlid Reach RS2+ is a multi-band GNSS receiver designed for surveying, mapping, and construction layout. It tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS on L1/L2/L5 frequencies, delivering centimeter-level accuracy when connected to an RTK correction service. The RS2+ is self-contained with a built-in antenna, battery (up to 16 hours), and an integrated LoRa radio. It connects to your phone or tablet through the Emlid Flow app via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Requirements
Emlid Reach RS2+ powered on with a clear view of the sky
Emlid Flow app installed on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android)
Internet connection on your phone (cellular data or Wi-Fi hotspot)
RTKdata.com account with active RTK credentials (username starting with

Step-by-step setup
Power on and connect
Press and hold the power button on the RS2+ for 3 seconds. The LEDs will begin cycling.
Open the Emlid Flow app on your phone.
Tap + Add new device or select your RS2+ from the device list.
Connect via Wi-Fi (the RS2+ creates its own hotspot named
reach:XX:XX) or via Bluetooth if previously paired.Once connected, you will see the device dashboard with satellite count and solution status.
Enter RTKdata.com NTRIP settings
Fill in the fields exactly as shown. Select the tab for your region:

Also configure:
Send receiver position to the correction service: Enabled (this sends NMEA GGA to RTKdata so corrections are generated for your location)
Tap Save to store the profile.
Only these four mountpoints are valid. Always use ALL CAPS.
Handle the "Confirm Login" prompt (RS2+ specific)
A common issue specific to the RS2+ is a popup in Emlid Flow that says "Confirm login to resume data sync." This message is unrelated to your NTRIP connection — it is an Emlid cloud account sync prompt.
When the message appears, tap Confirm or Dismiss.
If it keeps reappearing, sign into your Emlid account in Emlid Flow under Settings → Account.
This prompt does not affect RTK corrections. Your NTRIP connection will remain active even while the popup is displayed.
If the popup causes the NTRIP connection to drop, simply tap Reconnect in the Correction input menu.
What to expect
LED behavior: The power LED stays solid green. When receiving corrections, the status LED turns solid or blinking green depending on the solution type.
Convergence time: With good sky visibility and a nearby RTKdata base station, expect Float within 10–30 seconds and Fix within 30–90 seconds.
Accuracy at Fix: Horizontal accuracy of 1–2 cm, vertical accuracy of 2–3 cm.
Dashboard display: Emlid Flow shows satellite count, solution type (Single/Float/Fix), and age of corrections in real time.
Vertical reference (heights)
Heights from RTKdata.com are ellipsoidal, not orthometric (mean sea level). If your project requires MSL heights, apply a geoid model in your GIS software or use Emlid Flow's geoid settings.
Troubleshooting
"Confirm login to resume data sync" message
Emlid cloud sync prompt interfering
Tap Confirm or dismiss the dialog, then reconnect NTRIP. Sign into your Emlid account to prevent recurrence.
Correction input shows "Disconnected"
Wrong credentials or no internet
Double-check username/password from your RTK dashboard (not your website login). Verify your phone has active internet.
Stuck on Float, never reaches Fix
Poor sky visibility or antenna issue
Move to an open area away from buildings and tree canopy. Ensure the RS2+ is upright on a pole, not tilted.
Mountpoint error or empty mountpoint list
Mountpoint typed in lowercase
Type AUTO in all capital letters. Do not browse the mountpoint list — type it manually.
Connection drops repeatedly
Weak cellular signal
Switch to a different network or move to an area with better reception. The RS2+ will auto-reconnect when signal returns.
Tips and tricks
Use Wi-Fi for initial setup, Bluetooth for fieldwork. Wi-Fi gives a faster connection for configuration, but Bluetooth is more reliable in the field since your phone keeps its own internet connection.
Enable position logging in Emlid Flow before starting your survey so you have a backup record of all collected points.
Check "Age of corrections" on the dashboard. If it climbs above 5 seconds, your internet connection may be unstable.
The RS2+ remembers your NTRIP profile. After first setup, it will auto-connect on subsequent power-ups if you leave correction input enabled.
For PPK fallback, enable raw data logging under the Logging tab. If your NTRIP connection drops mid-survey, you can post-process the data later.
Battery life with NTRIP active is approximately 14–16 hours. The receiver will warn you at 10% battery in the app.
