EOS Arrow Gold

The EOS Arrow Gold is a multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS receiver designed for GIS professionals who need sub-meter to centimeter-level accuracy. It tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou on L1/L2/L5 frequencies and supports both RTK and Atlas (Trimble RTX) corrections. The Arrow Gold connects to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth and is managed through the EOS Tools Pro companion app. It is widely used in utilities, forestry, municipal GIS, and environmental field mapping.

Requirements

  • EOS Arrow Gold receiver, fully charged

  • EOS Tools Pro app installed on your phone or tablet (available for iOS and Android)

  • Internet connection on your phone (cellular data for field use)

  • RTKdata.com account with active RTK credentials

  • Bluetooth enabled on your phone

  • Survey pole or bipod (optional, the Arrow Gold has a standard 5/8"-11 thread)

  • Clear sky visibility — take the receiver outside before testing

Step-by-step setup

1

Power on the Arrow Gold

  1. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. The LED indicators will light up.

  2. Green LED = power on. Blue LED blinking = Bluetooth discoverable.

  3. Wait about 30 seconds for the receiver to acquire satellites.

2

Pair via Bluetooth

  1. Open your phone's Settings → Bluetooth.

  2. Find and pair with Arrow Gold [serial number] in the device list.

  3. Accept the pairing request if prompted.

3

Connect in EOS Tools Pro

  1. Open the EOS Tools Pro app.

  2. The app should detect the Arrow Gold automatically. If not, tap Select Receiver and choose your Arrow Gold from the list.

  3. Once connected, the app displays satellite count, PDOP, and current position accuracy.

4

Configure NTRIP

  1. In EOS Tools Pro, tap the Menu (hamburger icon or gear icon, depending on version).

  2. Navigate to RTK or Corrections settings.

  3. Select NTRIP as the correction source.

  4. Tap Add or Configure to enter the NTRIP profile.

  5. Enter the following settings. Select the tab for your region:

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

Also configure:

  • Send NMEA GGA: Enabled

  1. Tap Save and then Connect.

5

Verify RTK Fix

  1. Return to the main EOS Tools Pro screen.

  2. The correction status indicator shows: AutonomousFloatRTK Fix.

  3. The accuracy display will drop from meter-level to centimeter-level once Fix is achieved.

6

Set up mock location (Android)

For Android users who want their GIS app to automatically receive the corrected position from the Arrow Gold:

  1. Go to Settings → About phone and tap Build number 7 times to enable Developer Options.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Developer Options → Mock location app.

  3. Select EOS Tools Pro as the mock location provider.

  4. Open your GIS app (ArcGIS Field Maps, QField, Mergin Maps, etc.). It will now use the Arrow Gold's RTK-corrected position as if it were the phone's built-in GPS.

On iOS, mock location is not available. Instead, configure your GIS app to use the Arrow Gold as an external Bluetooth GNSS source in the app's location settings.

What to expect

  • LED indicators on the Arrow Gold:

    • Green solid = powered on

    • Blue blinking = Bluetooth active

    • Blue solid = Bluetooth connected

    • The receiver LEDs do not directly indicate RTK Fix — check EOS Tools Pro for solution status.

  • Convergence time: 20–60 seconds to Float, 30–120 seconds to Fix under open sky.

  • Accuracy at Fix: 1–2 cm horizontal, 2–4 cm vertical with a quality RTK correction source.

  • Sub-meter mode: Even without RTK Fix, the Arrow Gold with Atlas corrections can provide sub-meter accuracy as a fallback.

  • Battery life: Approximately 10–14 hours with Bluetooth and NTRIP corrections active.

Vertical reference (heights)

Heights from RTKdata.com are ellipsoidal by default. EOS Tools Pro can apply a geoid model (such as GEOID18 for the US) to display orthometric heights. Go to Settings → Geoid to configure this.

Troubleshooting

Problem
Cause
Fix

Arrow Gold not appearing in EOS Tools Pro

Bluetooth not paired

Pair in your phone's Bluetooth settings first, then reconnect in the app.

"NTRIP Connection Failed"

Incorrect host, port, or no internet

Double-check the caster address and port 2101. Verify your phone has an active data connection.

"Invalid credentials" or "Unauthorized"

Wrong username/password

Use the credentials from your RTKdata.com RTK dashboard. The username starts with rtk — do not use your website login.

Corrections received but no Fix

GGA not enabled or poor sky

Ensure Send NMEA GGA is turned on. Move to open sky — the Arrow Gold needs visibility to at least 15–20 satellites for reliable Fix.

Position jumps after losing Fix

Re-convergence after obstruction

This is normal. When you move back to open sky, the solution will re-converge within 30–60 seconds.

Mountpoint rejected

Typed in lowercase

Enter AUTO in all capital letters.

Mock location not working on Android

Developer Options not enabled or wrong app selected

Verify Developer Options are enabled and EOS Tools Pro is selected as the mock location provider. Restart your phone if needed.

Tips and tricks

  • EOS Tools Pro shows real-time accuracy in the status bar. Wait for the horizontal accuracy to drop below 3 cm before collecting critical points.

  • Mock location on Android is the recommended workflow. It lets every app on your phone use the Arrow Gold's corrected position without any special configuration per app.

  • On iOS, use the "External GPS" setting in apps like ArcGIS Field Maps, Collector, or Survey123 to read positions from the Arrow Gold via Bluetooth.

  • Configure EOS Tools Pro to display the coordinate system matching your project (UTM zone, state plane, etc.) for easier verification in the field.

  • Keep firmware up to date. EOS periodically releases firmware updates that improve RTK engine performance. Check the EOS website or contact your dealer.

  • For long field sessions, the Arrow Gold's 10+ hour battery is usually sufficient, but carry a USB power bank for backup. The receiver can operate while charging.

  • Save your NTRIP profile. EOS Tools Pro remembers the last used profile, so subsequent sessions connect automatically when you tap Connect.
