Emlid Flow

Emlid Flow is the official companion app for Emlid GNSS receivers, including the Reach RS2+, Reach RS3, Reach RX, and Reach RX2. Available on both iOS and Android, it handles receiver configuration, NTRIP correction input, data collection, and project management. When paired with an RTKdata.com subscription, Emlid Flow streams real-time corrections to your receiver for centimeter-level RTK positioning.

Download: App Store (iOS) | Google Play (Android)

Requirements

  • Emlid receiver (Reach RS2+, RS3, RX, or RX2) with clear sky view

  • Smartphone or tablet running Emlid Flow (iOS 14+ or Android 7+)

  • Internet access on your phone (mobile data or Wi-Fi)

  • Active RTKdata.com account with username and password

Step-by-step setup

1

Power on and connect the receiver

  1. Turn on your Emlid receiver and wait for the LED to indicate it is ready (blinking blue on RS2+/RS3).

  2. Open Emlid Flow on your phone.

  3. The app will detect your receiver via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Tap on your device name to connect.

  4. Wait for the receiver to acquire satellites. The status bar will display the number of satellites tracked.

2

Open correction input settings

  1. In the main Emlid Flow interface, tap the Correction input tab (satellite dish icon on the bottom bar).

  2. Select NTRIP as the correction source.

3

Create a new NTRIP profile

  1. Tap the + button or Add new to create a new profile.

  2. Give the profile a name (e.g., "RTKdata Europe").

4

Enter RTKdata.com connection settings

Fill in the following fields:

  • Send receiver position (NMEA): ON

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) β€” or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

5

Connect and wait for FIX

  1. Tap Apply or Save to store the profile.

  2. Tap the toggle or Connect button to start streaming corrections.

  3. Watch the solution status in the top bar: Single β†’ Float β†’ FIX.

  4. Once you see FIX, your receiver is operating at centimeter-level accuracy.

How to verify RTK is working:

  • Solution status in the status bar displays FIX (green indicator).

  • Horizontal precision shows values of 0.014 m or similar (1–2 cm).

  • Correction age remains below 5 seconds (visible in status details).

  • Correction input tab shows data actively streaming (byte counter increasing).

Troubleshooting

Problem
Cause
Fix

"Confirm login" popup repeats

Wrong credentials or unreachable server

Verify username/password; check hostname spelling

Connected but stuck on FLOAT

GGA not sent or poor sky

Ensure Send receiver position (NMEA) is ON; move to open sky

"Mountpoint not found"

Mountpoint not uppercase

Enter AUTO in ALL CAPS

Coordinate system conflict

Local CS selected during NTRIP setup

Choose Global CS for the NTRIP connection; apply local CS in project settings

Receiver not appearing in app

Bluetooth/Wi-Fi not active

Toggle Bluetooth/Wi-Fi off and on; restart the receiver

Accuracy stays at meter level

Too few satellites

Wait 30–60 seconds; ensure unobstructed 360-degree sky view

Tips for Emlid Flow

  • Global CS for NTRIP, local CS for projects. This distinction is critical and the most common mistake.

  • Keep firmware current. Update via Emlid Flow for improved RTK convergence and multi-constellation support.

  • Built-in survey tools. Emlid Flow includes point collection, stakeout, and CSV/DXF export without needing a separate GIS app.

  • Profile switching. Create one NTRIP profile per region for quick switching between work areas.

  • Check correction latency. If correction age exceeds 10 seconds, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
