Step-by-Step Setup

1

Power on & pair

  • Press the power button on the Flex Mini.

  • Pair via Bluetooth (Settings → Bluetooth → select the Flex Mini).

  • Open the Bad Elf Flex app; the receiver connects automatically.

2

Open RTK via NTRIP

In the Flex app: Corrections Mode → RTK via NTRIP → Network → + (add profile).

3

Enter RTKdata.com connection settings (Regional hostnames + IP fallback)

Use the regional RTKdata.com hostname where possible. If your device only accepts numbers or your network DNS blocks hostnames, use the numeric IP fallback. Keep ALL CAPS where noted.

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

4

Connect & verify

  • Tap Connect in the app.

  • Confirm RTCM data is streaming (check Connection/Server status).

  • Go outdoors with open sky; watch status go from Float to RTK: FIX.

5

Accuracy tips

  • Shorter baseline = faster FIX and higher accuracy.

  • Urban & suburban areas generally offer denser station geometry.

  • If you remain in FLOAT, double-check IP/Port, credentials, and mountpoint = AUTO.

Vertical reference (heights)

RTKdata.com delivers positions in the selected geodetic frame. Heights are ellipsoidal by design. For orthometric (mean sea level) elevations, load a geoid on your device (if supported) or apply one in your GIS/photogrammetry workflow.

Troubleshooting

  • No connection / no RTCM: Verify IP, Port = 2101, username/password, and mountpoint = ALL CAPS.

  • Stuck on FLOAT: Go outdoors, ensure clear sky, and use AUTO mountpoint.

  • App paths differ: Use RTK via NTRIP → Network → + profile (UI may vary slightly).
