Emlid Reach RX

Emlid Reach RX - How to Connect with RTKdata.com (NTRIP RTK Setup)

Get centimeter‑level positioning on your Emlid Reach RX by streaming RTK corrections from RTKdata.com using the Emlid Flow app. Flow opens the NTRIP connection over your phone’s internet and passes corrections to RX via Bluetooth. Your field app then consumes RX position (NMEA) over Bluetooth.

Requirements

  • Emlid Reach RX rover (for iOS third‑party apps, use the MFi revision).

  • Phone/tablet with internet (Wi‑Fi / hotspot / LTE) and the Emlid Flow app (iOS/Android).

  • A field app that can read an external GNSS over Bluetooth or uses Android Mock location (e.g., SW Maps, QField, ArcGIS Field Maps).

  • RTKdata.com credentials (username/password).

Quick checklist

  1. Power on RX → open Emlid Flow → connect to the receiver. (Screenshot: Flow → Receivers list)

  2. Create NTRIP profile in Flow (Correction input → NTRIP over Bluetooth). (Screenshot: New NTRIP profile form)

  3. Enter RTKdata.com settings (regional hostname or IP fallback, Port 2101, Mountpoint AUTO (ALL CAPS)).

  4. Connect and wait for RTK: FIX in Flow. (Screenshot: Correction input → Receiving corrections / FIX)

  5. In your field app, use RX positions:

    • Android: connect RX as Bluetooth GNSS or set a Mock location app.

    • iOS: pair the MFi RX and select it as the external GNSS in your app.

1

Power on & Bluetooth connect

  • Power on & connect in Emlid Flow (Bluetooth)

  • Turn on the RX; enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet.

  • Open Emlid FlowReceivers → select Reach RX to connect.

2

Create an NTRIP profile in Flow

  • Correction inputNTRIP over BluetoothAdd new (name it e.g., “RTKdata.com”).

  • Keep this profile selected; Flow will relay corrections to RX.

3

Enter RTKdata.com connection settings (Regional hostnames + IP fallback)

Use the regional RTKdata.com hostname where possible. If your device only accepts numbers or your network DNS blocks hostnames, use the numeric IP fallback. Keep ALL CAPS where noted.

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

4

Connect & verify FIX (in Flow)

  • Tap Connect in Flow; confirm status shows Receiving corrections.

  • Move outdoors with open sky; watch solution state progress to RTK: FIX.

5

Feed RX positions to your field app

  • Android (two options) a) Direct Bluetooth GNSS: In your app, choose external GNSS → select Reach RX → connect. b) Mock location: In Android developer options, set your app as the Mock location provider so apps that only use OS location get the RX position.

  • iOS (requires RX MFi) Pair the Reach RX (MFi) in iOS Bluetooth settings, then select it as the external receiver in your GNSS‑aware app (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps).

Do not duplicate NTRIP. With Reach RX, the Flow app is the NTRIP client. In your field app, don’t create a second NTRIP session—just read positions from RX over Bluetooth

Vertical reference (heights)

RTKdata.com streams positions in the selected geodetic frame; heights are ellipsoidal. If you need orthometric (MSL) elevations, enable a geoid on‑rover/controller (if supported) or apply one in your GIS/photogrammetry workflow. See Network parameters for notes.

Troubleshooting

  • Connected but no corrections / stuck on SINGLE or FLOAT → Re‑check host/IP, Port 2101, username/password, Mountpoint = AUTO (ALL CAPS); ensure the phone has internet and you’re in open sky.

  • Android app can’t bind to RX → Use the Mock location method.

  • iOS pairing fails or no external GNSS option → You need the Reach RX MFi revision for iOS third‑party apps. Pair in iOS settings first, then select it in the app.

  • Heights look “off” → Apply a geoid to convert ellipsoidal heights to MSL in your workflow.
