Emlid Reach RS2+

Emlid Reach RS2+ - How to Connect with RTKdata.com (NTRIP RTK Setup)

Emlid Reach RS2+ GNSS receiver setup with RTKdata.com corrections

Get centimeter‑level positioning on your Reach RS2+ by streaming RTK corrections from RTKdata.com over NTRIP using the Emlid Flow app. This guide adapts the video flow (power on → Wi‑Fi → Emlid Flow → NTRIP profile → connect → FIX) to RTKdata’s exact settings.

Requirements

  • Emlid Reach RS2+ GNSS rover on a pole/tripod, with clear open sky

  • Emlid Flow (iOS / Android) installed on the phone/tablet

  • Internet for the rover (Wi‑Fi network or phone hotspot)

  • RTKdata.com credentials (username/password).

Quick checklist

  1. Power on RS2+ → connect it to Wi‑Fi / hotspot (internet required).

  2. Open Emlid Flow → connect to the rover.

  3. Correction input → NTRIP → New profile → enter IP, port, credentials, mountpoint.

  4. Enable “Send receiver position (NMEA GGA)” to localize corrections.

  5. Tap Connect → wait for Receiving corrections and FIX.

Step‑by‑step setup (Emlid Flow)

1

Power up & get online

  • Press and hold the power button until the LED ring starts.

  • Connect the rover to a Wi‑Fi network or your phone’s hotspot so it has internet access (required for NTRIP).

  • In Emlid Flow, select your RS2+; it should connect automatically when nearby.

2

Open the NTRIP client

  • In Emlid Flow, go to Correction input → NTRIP → Add new (create a new profile).

  • Name the profile (e.g., RTKdata – Region).

3

Enter RTKdata.com connection settings (Regional hostnames + IP fallback)

Use the regional RTKdata.com hostname where possible. If your device only accepts numbers or your network DNS blocks hostnames, use the numeric IP fallback. Keep ALL CAPS where noted.

  • Host (domain): rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Host (IP fallback): 13.56.117.10

  • Port: 2101

  • Username / Password: From RTK Credentials in the internal dashboard (not website login)

  • Mountpoint (ALL CAPS): AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

4

Connect & verify FIX

  • Tap Connect in the NTRIP profile.

  • In Emlid Flow, watch for Receiving corrections and the status FIX (top‑right).

  • The Correction input will show NTRIP when active. You’re ready to survey with centimeter‑level positions.

5

(Optional) Output frame alignment

If your workflow requires a specific frame, align your project/output to the mountpoint you chose:

  • AUTO → applies the correct regional frame automatically (e.g., NAD83(2011) in the US, ETRS89/ETRF2000 in the EU).

  • AUTO_WGS84 → WGS84 (G2139)

  • AUTO_ITRF2020 → ITRF2020 (epoch 2015.0)

  • AUTO_ITRF2014 → ITRF2014 (current epoch)

Vertical reference (heights)

RTKdata.com streams positions in the selected geodetic frame; heights are ellipsoidal by design. If you need orthometric (mean sea level) elevations, enable a geoid on the rover (if supported) or apply one in your GIS/photogrammetry workflow during processing/export.

Troubleshooting

  • No connection / no corrections: Double‑check IP + Port (2101), username/password, and mountpoint = ALL CAPS (AUTO recommended). Confirm the phone/rover has internet.

  • Not getting FIX (stuck on FLOAT): Move to open sky, ensure Send receiver position (NMEA GGA) = ON, use AUTO mountpoint, and reconnect.

  • Wrong region: Use the regional IP closest to your job site for fastest convergence and best accuracy.

Why RTKdata.com?

  • Centimeter‑level real‑time accuracy

  • < 1 s latency

  • Global reach with dense coverage in key regions

  • Simple IP‑only setup across popular field apps and receivers
