DJI Phantom 4 RTK (P4R): RTK Setup & NTRIP Settings

Connect your DJI Phantom 4 RTK to RTKdata.com using the GS RTK App. This guide is specific to the P4R and the built-in screen controller.

This guide provides the exact NTRIP settings to connect your DJI Phantom 4 RTK (P4R) to the RTKdata.com network using the GS RTK App.


Prerequisites & Hardware

The P4R is sensitive to connection methods. Check these before starting:

  • Controller Connection: Ensure your Remote Controller is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi Hotspot (recommended) or 4G Dongle.

  • App Version: Ensure the GS RTK App is updated (via the in-app update center).

  • Credentials: Have your NTRIP Username & Password ready (from the Dashboard).

Access the RTK Menu

  1. Power on the Remote Controller and the Aircraft.

  2. Open the GS RTK App on the main screen.

  3. Tap Plan or Fly to enter the camera view.

  4. Tap the Three Dots (...) in the top right corner.

  5. Select the RTK Menu (Satellite Dish Icon).

Configure NTRIP Parameters

In the RTK Settings menu:

  1. RTK Type: Select "Custom Network RTK".

  2. Input: Fill in the fields below.

  • NTRIP Address: rtk.rtkdata.com

  • Port: 2101

  • Account / Password: Use the specific NTRIP credentials from your RTKdata.com Dashboard Note: These are different from your website login

  • Mountpoint : AUTO (recommended) — or AUTO_WGS84, AUTO_ITRF2020, AUTO_ITRF2014

💡 Legacy P4R Tip: On older firmware, you cannot type "AUTO" manually. You must enter Host, Port, User, and Password first -> Click "Get Source List" -> Select AUTO (or a specific mountpoint like AUTO_WGS84) from the dropdown.

Save and Verify "FIX"

  1. Tap Connect.

  2. Look at the status bar at the top of the screen.

  3. Wait for the status to change from SINGLE (Red) to FLOAT (Yellow) to FIX (Green).

Correct Status Indications:

  • RTK Status: FIX

  • GPS Coordinates: Should be stable (not drifting).

  • Standard Deviation: < 2cm (0.02)

Troubleshooting Phantom 4 Specifics

The P4R is an older platform and has specific quirks.

Issue
Solution

"Network Error" / "Disconnect"

The P4R Wi-Fi module is weak. Ensure your phone hotspot is very close to the controller (in your pocket).

"RTK Service Suspended"

This is a common bug in the GS RTK App. Restart the aircraft and the controller. If it persists, toggle "RTK" off and on again.

Cannot see "AUTO" in list

If the source list is empty, verify your Password. The P4R will not show mountpoints if authentication fails.

Bad Accuracy / No Fix

The P4R antenna is smaller than the Mavic 3's. It struggles near buildings. You strictly need open sky.
